Part of our mission at FERA is hosting events that facilitate engagement with feminism on our campus. This involves collaborating with other organizations, hosting social events, and giving back to the community. At the end of each year, we host a gala open to members of FERA and the university more widely.

#16DaysUofT Social Media Action Campaign
This year, FERA is participating in a campus-wide social media action campaign, #16DaysUofT, in honour of the United Nations 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence. We are contributing daily blog and Instagram posts to further the dialogue on this topic and draw attention to violence against women and other gender minorities.

International Women's Day 2021: Nationwide Event
In honour of International Women's Day, we collaborated in our first nationwide event in March 2021. We partnered with several feminist student organizations from across Canada to produce a panel discussion on the disproportionate impacts of COVID-19 on women.

2021 Gala: RIOT GRRRL!
Each year, our gala committee creates an event to inspire and provoke engaged discussion between our community and valuable leaders within the feminist movement. Our 2021 theme was "RIOT GRRRL!", inspired by the punk movement and centred around women in leadership.

Fundraising Campaign for Homeless Women in Toronto
In the Fall 2020 semester, our fundraising and events committee facilitated a fundraiser for Robertson House, a women's shelter located in Toronto. With our community, we raised $700 to create care packages for these women.

2022 Gala: Not Your Average Barbie
Our 2022 gala will take place virtually on March 4th at 7:00 PM Eastern. “Not Your Average Barbie: Perspectives on Gendered Socialization and Feminism” explores the role toys play role in enforcing gender roles. Register for the event through Eventbrite here.

Fundraising Campaign for Pregnant Teens and Young Mothers in Toronto
Over the holiday season (Winter 2021-22), the FERA community came together to raise over $400 for The Massey Centre for Women, a local mental health organization that provides support for pregnant and parenting adolescents, aged 13-25 and their babies who reside at the centre or in the community.
